Newbridge Academy Player of Week is Christopher Piche, a hard worker with great talent. He was named U16 team MVP and averaged 1.4 points per game over a 24 game regular season. He never takes a shift off and can play anywhere in your lineup. He wants to get better every time he touches the ice. This young man came from Québec after being the last cut of the Gatineau Intrépide Midget AAA to pursue is schooling in English and play at a high hockey level. He’s an amazing student and the perfect student-athlete to move on to play NCAA.
“Let me tell you, being at Newbridge as a student-athlete provides me a lot of benefits. It allows me to perform and improve my abilities in my sport, while having a good education. All my coaches and my teachers are always there to support me and to make me better in my sport, at school and also as a human being. Being at Newbridge will not only help me to reach my goals as a student, but also as a hockey player. In the coming years, I would like to study in a good university and play for their hockey team as well. It’s not an easy goal to reach, but Newbridge will help me in the process to get to the next level. Finally, for someone like me who is coming from really far, from Québec, Newbridge’s community gave me the opportunity to have a new family. Thank you Newbridge ” – Christopher Piché #17
