Halifax native Liam O’Brien became one of the best NHL training camp stories last year when despite the odds, managed to crack the Washington Capitols lineup. He scored goals, made big hits and fought his way into the Caps lineup on opening night. Later in the season after 13 games, the Caps sent the undrafted forward to their AHL affiliate (Hershey Bears) where he finished the season.
