Jessica MacLean is a rookie with the Cabot Highlanders in the Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League. She decided to play with the Highlanders as she pursues her dream to eventually play in the NCAA or USports. She is one of very few females to play minor midget or major midget in Nova Scotia and all those that have are all goaltenders. She is a defenceman and admits it wasn’t easy deciding where to play this season. John Moore caught up with MacLean prior to a game at the league Early Bird tournament in Sackville on the weekend.
