Avery Warner has returned to the Cape Breton West Islanders for the 2016/17 Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League season. The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles sent the 17 year old forward back to the Islanders after selecting him in the QMJHL draft. Warner was one of the league’s top scorers last season with 22 goals, 37 points in 36 games. John Moore caught up with Warner and coach Kyle MacDonald at the annual Early Bird tournament at Cole Harbour Place.
