Switzerland’s Philipp Kurashev is making a major impact with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The high scoring forward is leading his team in scoring after 2 months in his first season in the Canadian Hockey League. Kurashev decided to leave Switzerland as he pursues his dream of playing in the National Hockey League. He just turned 17 years old and is not eligible for the 2017 NHL draft in Chicago due to his late birthday. John Moore caught up the Remparts centre prior to a game against the Halifax Mooseheads and discusses his decision to come to Canada and how badly he wants to play for the Swiss U20 team at the World championships over the holidays in Montreal and Toronto. Kurashev has been invited to the Swiss national team selection later this month in Oshawa.
