Nico Hischier is coming off an outstanding season with the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The Naters Switzerland native is expected to be one of the first few players selected at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft in Chicago. The draft eligible centreman lead all rookie scorers in the QMJHL and was 2nd in team scoring with 38 goals and 86 points in 57 games. With the regular season over, Hischier and the Mooseheads now face the highly powered Rouyn Noranda Huskies in a best of 7 first round series. The Mooseheads are heavy underdogs but Hischier can’t wait for his first taste of QMJHL playoff action. “I have a good feeling, We are young but we can do something.” The best of 7 series begins Friday/Saturday at the IamGold Arena in Rouyn-Noranda and shifts to Halifax for Games 3/4 and if needed 5 (Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday). Hischier joins John Moore in the broadcast booth at the Halifax Scotiabank Centre.
