Bedford native Luc Poirier was facing the very real possibility he might never walk and in all probability every skate again after suffering a knee injury earlier this season with the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The 20 year old former Halifax Macs didn’t think the injury was terribly serious but complications arose and his doctor made him aware of the possiblities and even suggested he may have to have the injured leg amputated. Slowly Poirier began to recover and eventually was able to walk and skate. He has managed to even play a couple of games with the Timberwolves and his prognosis is excellent. John Moore caught up with Poirier prior to Game 6 of the Maritime Hockey League championship final in Truro on Wednesday ( April 25, 2017).
