Mason McDonald is a goaltending prospect in the Calgary Flames organization. The 21 year old Halifax native was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2014 NHL draft and played junior hockey in the QMJHL with Acadie-Bathurst Titan and the Charlottetown Islanders. McDonald played 29 games with Adirondack Thunder in the ECHL and one game with the AHL Stockton Heat. The 6 foot 4 tender has dropped 5 pounds this summer and is determined to earn a spot with the AHL team as he feels he is leaner and stronger. He also spent a 2nd summer on ice with Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon and other pros. John Moore caught up with McDonald during a workout with Bobby Pederson of 360Fit.
