Declan Smth is a 19 year old 4th year QMJHL veteran with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. The Antigonish native and former Cape Breton West Islander was named an assistant captain last week and wore the “A” for the first time in his career against the Mooseheads in a game at Scotiabank Centre. With the Drake Batherson trade, Smith has increased responsibilities with the team and is 3rd in team scoring with 14 goals and 27 points. He will be looked to for leadership in the 2nd half of the season. John Moore caught up with Smith prior to the game, he had a goal in a 5-4 overtime loss.
