Breton Penney couldn’t have written a better script for his season with the Dartmouth Bandits of the East Coast Junior Lacrosse League. The undersized but quick, highly skilled forward ripped up the league’s scoring race and helped lead the Bandits to their 2nd consecutive league championship with 3 goals, 5 points in a 9-8 championship win over Halifax Hurricanes Tuesday at Shearwater Arena. The East Chezzetcook native is back home after his freshman year in NCAA with Lynchburg College (Div 3). Despite lots of playing time in his first year, Penney was hoping to be more productive offensively and is determined to be a more impactful player in his 2nd season with the Hornets. John Moore caught up with the Bandits star forward prior to their championship game victory over the Hurricanes.
